The Capella Aquatic Centre, opened in 1997 is a multi million dollar facility and is much more than just a swimming pool. In fact, it has five pools, a gym, squash courts, picnic area and conference facilities.
The swimming facilities, which are all solar heated, include a 50m Olympic pool, a learners pool (0.7m~0.9m deep), a wading pool ( for small children), the Slide Pool (with water slide) and a spa/hydrotherapy pool.
The gymnasium is equipped with cycle, treadmill and rowing machines plus various weight training machines. The squash court is available for hire at all times the Aquatic Centre is open. Racquets and balls are also available for hire.
The Aquatic Centre has five electric barbecues for use by visitors to the centre. They are free to use and the surrounding areas provide an ideal spot to have lunch or dinner. The Conference Room is furnished with video conference equipment which is available for hire. It is also utilised by the local swimming club and is available for seminars upon request.
